Leadership opportunities abound at Wellington, with students encouraged to take every opportunity possible to develop themselves personally and to help lead others within, and outside of, school.
Outside of specific roles and responsibilities, every student in school is asked to incorporate elements of leadership via our values, specifically being an inspiration to others, being inclusive at all times, showing independence where needed, and to excel as both an individual and as part of larger groups, teams, Houses, and more.
Students across Junior and Senior School have the opportunity to be part of Student Leadership teams, including leading committees, being House Captains, or ultimately becoming Head Boy or Girl or one their deputies. Many of our students also take the role of Student Ambassadors, which include conducting duties such as leading Open Morning parent tours and supporting with a variety of events.
Other roles automatically require strong leadership, whether this be in the role of a sports Team Captain, being part of elite sports squads, or leading a team in competition. All of our Scholars - whether in Academics, Music, or Sport - must also demonstrate strong leadership in school, inspiring others to excel, to improve performance, or simply become more involved in a variety of activities.
Additional optional leadership opportunities are present via programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme which, although not framed a leadership course, has multiple leadership qualities built into its structure, such as responsibility, initiative, resilience, problem-solving, teamwork, empathy, service, and more.
Students are also introduced to multiple service/charity projects across the school, aimed at supporting those less fortunate, both within Thailand and as part of international fundraising and awareness campaigns.
