Mr Mathew Sutherley joined Wellington Bangkok in August 2025. He brings over 20 years of international experience in English Language Teaching, teacher training, and academic management. Mr Sutherley holds a Cambridge DELTA, Trinity TYLEC, and a CELTA, and is currently completing an MA in Professional Development for Language Education. He has worked extensively with the British Council in Thailand, Korea, and the UK, serving as a Senior Teacher, Academic Manager, and IELTS examiner. His expertise spans curriculum design, teacher training, corporate and soft-skills instruction, and blended learning innovation. “I believe the best language lessons are active, relevant, and empowering. My aim is to help students develop real-world communication skills and the confidence to use them beyond the classroom.”
