Mr Michael Hetherington joined Wellington Bangkok in August 2024, as a Year 5 class teacher. He has over ten years of teaching experience in both the UK and international settings, having previously taught in Abu Dhabi and at Wellington Shanghai. Mr Hetherington graduated from the University of Manchester with a BA degree in English Language, Literacy and Communication. Following his graduation, he completed his PGCE at Newcastle University and began teaching in the UK. He then decided to enrich his teaching practice with international experience. Mr Hetherington has taught across all Key Stage 2 year groups during this time, as well as teaching early Key Stage 3 Maths to students in Years 7 and 8 while in China. Mr Hetherington is very much looking forward to welcoming your child to Year 5, getting to know them and your family. “My teaching philosophy is rooted in high expectations and inspiring learners with dynamic, engaging lessons.
