Alex Gabriel joined Wellington Bangkok as a Junior School Class Teacher after a previous role teaching Year 4 at an international school in Dubai, UAE. Mr. Gabriel graduated from the University of Kent in 2012 with an undergraduate degree in Film Studies, before moving on to studying for a PGCE in Primary education at Canterbury Christ Church University. Not long after graduating, Mr. Gabriel realised that his passion was to teach the British Curriculum in other areas of the world and thus moved to Cairo. From there, he went on to coordinate KS2 Maths in Doha, lead KS1 Literacy at a school in Bangkok and now teach in Dubai. “It has been my desire to teach ever since I was a teenager, as my educators completely changed my life, giving me the confidence to be who I am. It is my goal to instill this same mentality in all of my students; academia is just as important as understanding yourself in the modern world. Wellbeing is a key focus in my teaching methods and I want to inspire children to face any challenges which may come their way. I have a fun, light-hearted and dedicated approach to education and a plethora of experience from around the world to help. I am greatly looking forward to joining the Wellington team and helping to deliver a creative and engaging curriculum.”
